What are Box Tops?
Box Tops look like the picture to the left and can be found on lots of items. Every Box Top you turn in earns our school 10¢.
How does it work?
Send in your Box Tops any time with your student. You don’t have to wait for the contest to be announced. They will still count. Just put them in a plastic baggie and label the bag with his or her grade level. There are Box Top boxes in each classroom. Your student’s teacher can point them out to your kid if they don’t already know about them.Box Top contests are held twice a year, usually in ??? and ???. Grades compete for a prize, usually an ice cream party or something similar. There are also prizes for the student who brings in the most Box Tops.
When contest time rolls around, we will post an announcement to this blog, so be sure to sign up to follow the blog so you can receive updates automatically. We will also post the contest winners.
What if I don’t eat any of the food or use any of the products that have Box Tops?
There are still ways you can help. Try one or more of the following:
- Ask grandparents, aunts, friends, etc. if they would collect Box Tops for you. Sometimes you can get a surprising amount that way.
- Visit the Box Tops web site and looks for ways to earn Box Tops online, including shopping online at a really large number of vendors. You have to create a login on the Box Tops web site, but you can opt out of their emails very easily. If you want their emails, you will receive coupons and other stuff you might find interesting.
- On the Box Tops web site, click to enter Box Tops Bonus contests to earn extra money for our school. You can even play games on their we site to earn Box Tops.
Do I have to trim Box Tops?
No, but it is helpful to have as little cardboard as possible attached due to weight. We have to pay for postage when we mail in the thousands of Box Tops we collect each year.
